What You Will Study

Digital Functional Skills is a part time course for students over 19 years old. We offer 18-week courses in both Entry Level 3 and Level 1 which are designed to help students develop their basic digital skills using real-life situations.

The course covers a range of units: how to manage and store information e.g. how to search the internet effectively and how to store files and folders, create and edit documents e.g. word processing, communication skill; online forms and keeping safe & responsible online.

We have daytime and evening classes available which are 3-hours long with additional online homework set each week. Courses start in September and February.

Entry Requirements

Students will be required to take an initial assessment to assess their prior knowledge in digital skills, students will then be placed on the appropriate course level - we offer this course at Entry Level 3 and at Level 1. Students who require a higher level will be directed towards our Level 2 Digital & IT Skills courses.

How You Will Be Assessed

Assessment is an online exam at the end of the course, which will be taken at the college.

Course Progression

Students may go on to higher levels in Functional Skills, or other higher level Digital & IT qualifications.
