Objective

The primary purpose of this qualification is to develop learners’ knowledge and skills to build their expertise, inspiring them to undertake tactical tasks that deliver value. Learners will build their confidence and knowledge, with the aim of supporting immediate colleagues, customers, and the organisation. Learners will support change and drive impact to create immediate and short-term value. They will gather information to use in their role and use this to understand their work, organisation, and profession more deeply. This can then be applied to the world of work as well as being used as a vehicle to start their journey to CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) membership at the appropriate level to complement career and professional development.

  • 75- minute professional discussion with an independent assessor

Progression

Successful completion of this standard will enable the individual to apply for Associate Membership (Assoc CIPD) of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), the professional body for the HR sector, if they take the qualifications suggested.

Career Progression

This apprenticeship forms the foundation of a career within the profession, allowing for further development of a career path within an organisation and/ or through the Level 5 People Professional apprenticeship. The apprentice can choose to stay within core HR or diversify into an HR specialism.

Fees

Apprenticeship course fees are subject to the age of the apprentice, and the size of the company.

For employers with less than 50 employees who do not pay the apprenticeship levy and who take on an apprentice who is aged between 16-21 at the start of their apprenticeship, there will be no direct cost and the full training costs will be covered by Government funding. If the apprentice is aged 22+ the government partially subsides the training costs and the employer will need to pay 5% of the costs. In the case of this course, the fee would be £225.

For an employer with more than 50 employees a 5% charge will be implemented regardless of the age of the apprentice which in this case would be £225.

A levy paying company will pay the full cost of the apprenticeship from their levy account which in this case would be £4,500.

Please note that course fees are to be paid by the employer and apprentices must not be asked to make a financial contribution toward their training.

To discuss apprenticeship course fees in more detail or for more information on recruiting an apprentice, please contact 01603 773365 or Apprenticeships@ccn.ac.uk.
