Summary
This is an ideal course for people who wish to access courses associated with Project Search and MINT but do not feel entirely ready or confident. This course will use enterprise challenges, team work enhancing activities and employment training to ensure participants are ready to get the most from post-college life. The name 'Ticket' was created by the first cohort of students as they saw the course as their 'ticket to a better future'.
Alongside the development of employability skills and expertise, students will continue to develop their maths and English through Functional Skills qualifications.

Entry Requirements
No formal entry requirements. The course is for students who want to gain paid employment but need to develop their employability skills prior to moving onto Project Search or MINT. Interview required .
Learning Outcomes
Learners will be able to reflect on what employers expect from a candidate applying for a job, they will be able to develop a relevant CV for a specific job recognising how their own skills, experience and ability relate to a vacancy and communicate this effectively in a CV and in interview.
Assessment
Assessment is informal. The course is assessed by frequent and thorough CV workshops and job interview training. Each learner will leave the course with a CV. The interviews can reflect the knowledge and skills gained and also ensures the learners can adapt their CV for any job description. Each mock job interview is filmed and local employers, who will conduct the interviews, can reflect and assess the good points and ways to improve with the learner and the main tutor. Students complete the Gateway Preparation for Employment qualification alongside Functional Skills maths and English
Progression
Learners will be able to go onto work, Project Search, MINT or enter into an apprenticeship.
Career Progression
This course facilitates and supports students through real-life experiences of work, enterprise and social development for long term employment.
Fees
Students will need to have successfully applied for and received funding.
