Summary

This Engineering T Level Foundation Year programme will prepare you for entry onto Engineering T Levels including Mechanical, Mechatronic and Light and Electric Vehicle
The programme will develop your knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • Engineering technical knowledge and skills
  • Knowledge and skills for the workplace
  • Skills for successful study
  • English, maths and digital skills
  • Work-ready behaviours and attitudes

The Engineering elements of the programme will cover the below outcomes:

  • Propose design solutions to meet specifications
  • Apply practical skills to produce engineered products
  • Solve problems with innovative engineering ideas

Why Our College?

Equivalent to 3 A Levels

T Levels are equivalent to three A Levels and are allocated UCAS tariff points.

Developed with industry

T Levels have been designed with leading employers and businesses. They will provide you with the skills to progress to an apprenticeship, university or skilled employment.

Academic and practical

80% will be academic and technical study at college. 20% will be practical experience gained with an employer as part of an industry placement.

Entry Requirements

Achive 4 GCSE's at grade 4 or above, including maths. Achieve GCSE English Language at grade 3 or above.

Objective

As the complexity of all areas of Engineering technology increases, this course is designed to develop students' understanding of key principles of Engineering, pathing the way to Higher Education opportunities and ultimately skilled employment.

Assessment

Assessment of this course is through a range of methods including written work, presentations, online tests and practical demonstrations as well as project based learning.

Progression

Successful students could progress on to the Engineering T level Maintenance, installation and Repair route, selecting one of the three Occupational Specialisms we offer in Maintenance Engineering Technologies: Mechanical, Maintenance Engineering Technologies: Mechatronic or Light and Electric Vehicles. Students could also progression to apprenticeships within this sector.
