Summary

The Engineering T Levels are new 2-year courses developed in collaboration with engineering employers and businesses to prepare you for careers in the field of engineering. They are equivalent to 3 A Levels.
As part of your study, you will undertake 18 core units followed by study of your Light and Electric Vehicle occupational specialism. The core component is a highly theoretical aspect covering all aspects of Engineering including Engineering Mathematics, Electrical and Electronic Systems, Applied Physics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Control System, Health and Safety, Project Management, Engineering Business. The Occupational Specialism year will enable you to specialise in one aspect and will through combination of practical and theory delivery using our state of the art facilities enable application of the knowledge obtained in the core year to introduce topics critical to your chosen specialism.

You will also undertake an industry placement of between 45 and 50 days (315 hours) across the two years.

Entry Requirements

Achieve 5 GCSE's at grade 4 or above, including English Language. Achieve GCSE maths and science (physics) at a grade 5 or above.

Assessment

The core component will be assessed by 2 externally set exams and one employer set project.

The occupational specialism is assessed through an externally set assignment.

Progression

This course carries UCAS points and provides a route into higher education on a variety of Engineering and Motor Vehicle disciplines.

Career Progression

This course will provide you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to successfully maintain, install, service and repair, light and electric vehicles.

Fees

For UK students aged under 19 years old on the 31st August prior to the start of your course, your tuition fees are free.
There will be additional costs of £25 for equipment plus trip costs. You will also need to buy safety boots, approximately £10.50. Financial support could be available depending on your circumstances. Please check our Finance pages for fee information and any financial help that may be available.
