Summary
The technical qualification (TQ) forms part of the new T Level study programme. T Levels are two-year high-quality technical courses, designed with employers, to give young people the skills that industries need, and for them to thrive in the workplace.
The purpose of the level 3 technical qualification is to ensure students have the knowledge and skills needed to progress into skilled employment or higher level technical training relevant to the T Level. The T Level Health (Supporting the Adult Nursing Team) is suitable for post-16 students looking to develop both knowledge and practical skills in the health sector.
You will gain core knowledge in a variety of areas such as health and safety within the sector, health and wellbeing, providing person centred care, science concepts, infection prevention and control, managing personal information and physiological measurements.
You will then go on to focus your skills in your chosen occupational specialism of Supporting the Adult Nursing Team. Within the occupational specialism you will study key aspects of supporting healthcare teams such as assisting with individual care needs, assist regulated health professionals, and undertaking physiological measurements as well as specialism specific content. The Supporting Adult Nursing Team occupational specialism pathway will include content related to assisting the adult nursing team in clinical settings, supporting individuals to meet activities of daily living and assisting with skin integrity assessments and the care and treatment of skin conditions
As part of this course, you will complete a mandatory industry placement (315hrs) with an employer to develop your practical and technical skills to threshold competency for that specialism.
