Summary

This Skills Bootcamp is to upskill motor vehicle technicians and mechanics to be able to service or work on an electric vehicles and to support garages to meet the needs of their customer base. With the governments aim of 80% of new cars being electric by 2030, the demand on independent garages, to re-train staff in this new technology is costly and timely. This course will enable employers to upskill their staff at a fraction of the course costs but will need to commit time to their employees to attend all sessions.
This course is based on 10 days delivery ( 6 hours per day) spread over a 5 week period.( 28th October - 1st November) (11th to 13th November) (25th & 26th November)
It will include the following qualifications;
IMI L2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance
IMI L3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement
IMI L4 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing and Repair of Electric/Hybrid Vehicles and Compenents - we will deliver some key elements, including further legislation, advanced diagnostics and oscilloscope. However we unable to deliver the qualification as IMI state that you must have 6 months related experience.
You will be taught with the latest technology to industry standards.

Entry Requirements

  • You must be age 19+
  • Have the right to work in the UK/have a National Insurance number
  • Not be enrolled on other funded training such as an apprenticeship, higher education, kick-start, re-start
  • Be a current resident in Norfolk or Suffolk
  • Have lived in the UK/EU for at least 3 years or have the right to live and work in the UK
  • You must posses a L3 Motor Vehicle Qualification and have good electrical skills

Learning Outcomes

Part of the requirement of the course is to track and monitor your progression. For Employers, the employer must be able to evidence that within a 6 month period the learner has either taken on more responsibilities within the workplace or been promoted.
For self-employed learners evidence will be required that you are using the news skills and knowledge in your current workplace.

Assessment

On successful completion of this course you will have all the necessary skills to work safely with electric vehicles . Both the L2 and L3 qualifications have practical assessments to achieve the qualification.

This course is Free for learners age 19+ - please check entry criteria.
For employers wishing to put employees on the course - if you have 249 employees or less you will pay 10% of the overall cost which equates to £184.00 per employee.
