Apprenticeships

What is an Apprenticeship?

Why are Apprenticeships?

Apprentices are employed and receive a wage and support from an employer that is committed to their development. Training takes place in the workplace and at college and Apprentices cover a range of tasks that relate to the apprenticeship programme of study.

Your employer will also support you with off-the-job training and you’ll be supported by one of our Tutor Assessors throughout your Apprenticeship course.

Why do an Apprenticeship?

  • Learning on the job: When you start an Apprenticeship you’ve got the opportunity to learn as you work. Rather than being in a classroom all week, you get hands-on experience in the workplace
  • Earn while you learn: As an Apprentice you earn a salary. It’s as simple as that really – just like work, but with added training. And you get paid holidays!
  • Be a step ahead: Believe it or not you’ll be a step ahead in terms of experience because you’ve completed in-depth practical work experience in a real job.
  • You’ll probably get a permanent job at the end of it: Usually an Apprenticeship leads to a permanent job with your employer.  Imagine finishing with a qualification and a job straight away!

Most Apprenticeships take between one and four years to complete and are work-based training programmes designed around the needs of employers, which lead to nationally recognised qualifications

There are 4 levels of Apprenticeship available
