City College Norwich - Higher Education Contextualised Offers
We want to encourage and support students from a diverse range of backgrounds to access Higher Education at City College Norwich. We therefore consider a range of circumstances that may have impacted an applicant's prior attainment and offer a reduction in our standard offer for applicants who meet one or more of the following criteria.
Eligibility Criteria
- Home fee paying students living in England, who at the time of application, live in an Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) Decile 1-4 postcode. Students can check their eligibility by adding their postcode to this eligibility checker. We have also created a guide to interpreting the information.
and/or
- Home fee paying students living in the UK, who are (or have been) eligible or receiving free school meals during their secondary education. This information comes from the UCAS application form, which includes questions about whether students are receiving or have received free school meals.
and/or
- Home fee paying students living in the UK, who have experience of care. This could include students who have spent time living with foster carers under local authority care, in residential care (e.g. a children’s home), looked after at home under a supervision order, or in kinship care with relatives or friends, either officially (e.g. a special guardianship order) or informally without local authority support.
and/or
- Home fee paying students living in the UK who are estranged from their parents. This refers to young people studying without the support and approval of a family network.
Our Contextual Offer
UCAS applicants who meet one or more of the above eligibility criteria, will receive a contextual offer of up to two grades lower, or an equivalent reduction in tariff, from our published UCAS Entry Tariff for the relevant course.
Please note, we will use the data that you provide on your UCAS application to determine your eligibility and will reflect this in the offer we make to you.
