A ‘Good’ college with effective teaching and excellent resources to ensure you achieve – Read our Ofsted report

At City College Norwich we provide students with high quality teaching and learning, delivered by expert teachers who have high expectations for our students.  We have excellent facilities and support, and work-related learning opportunities that enable our students to achieve and progress on to their chosen careers and university courses.

That’s not just what we say about our college - Ofsted think so too!  Click here to read our latest inspection report.

Following the 4-day inspection in February 2017, the Ofsted report, rates the college as ‘Good’ for overall effectiveness.  Inspectors judged the college to be ‘Good’ in 7 out of 8 areas, with an ‘Outstanding’ rating for our provision for students with high needs (those with learning difficulties, disabilities or complex needs that require higher levels of support).

Underpinned by City College Norwich’s “highly effective partnerships” with employers, “excellent specialist industry-standard facilities and resources”, and “well qualified and experienced” teachers and assessors, the report includes numerous examples of the ways in which “relevant programmes of study…prepare [learners] effectively for future employment or education.”

Teaching, learning and assessment at our college is said to be “effective in enabling the large majority of learners to make good progress, achieve their qualifications and realise their ambitions.”  Teachers and assessors’ “high expectations” and “good use of stretching target grades” see students as a whole make “good progress”.

Corrienne Peasgood, principal, City College Norwich, commented:

“Whether it is moving on to employment, an apprenticeship, a promotion, higher education, or independent living, our key focus is on students’ destinations after college.  This report recognises the many ways in which City College Norwich’s expert teaching staff, and industry-standard facilities, together with the fantastic support of our employer partners, are helping our students to realise their career aspirations.”
