Recognition of Prior Certificated Learning
RPL1 - Individual Application
This form is for the use of a student who wishes to make a claim for the recognition of prior certificated learning.
The certificate must show :
(a) the date the award was achieved ( normal currency of an award is 5 years)
(b) the title of the award
(c) the name and registered address of the awarding body
(d) the level of the award (if not apparent from the title e.g BA (hons) HND or FdA)
and be accompanied by a transcript. You will normally have to demonstrate the coverage of learning outcomes in the receiving award so module specifications/definitions or similar documentation will also be expected.
RPL2 - Institutional Application
This form is for use by a member of college staff (or programme team) who wishes to register a claim for recognition of a qualification against a CCN award.
RPL3 - RPEL Application
This form is for the use of a student who wishes to make a claim for the recognition of prior experiential learning.
The application must show :
(a) the total credit value of proposed transfer at the necessary levels
(b) the nature of experience for which credit is claimed
(c) period(s) during which experience was gained (normally the 5 year period preceding the date of the application)
(d) summary of supporting evidence (verifiable evidence whether by documentary or testamentary means)
A brief summary of key aspects of the forms and an outline of the procedure for making a claim.
