Blackboard is the Intranet and online learning platform used at City College Norwich. Blackboard is available to all staff and students with a college login.

CCN Vision

CCN Vision is a free app that lets you discover, create and share virtual content from City College Norwich created using Aurasma technology. It is capable of recognising images, symbols and objects in the real world and then delivering a layer of augmented reality directly onto your mobile device. CCN Vision is available to Android and Apple mobile devices, appearing in both Google Play and  the Apple App store.

Student absence

Explanations of any absence must be reported using either of the following options:

  • By calling 01603 773311 (then selecting option 2), or
  • Logging on Student Blackboard and completing a Learner Absence Form, or
  • Sending an email to

If you are absent for four weeks without producing a written explanation you will be regarded as having left the course.  If you are on placement, you’ll also need to let the placement staff know that you’ll be absent.

Staff Absence

If you cannot come to work because you are ill you must phone the following 24 hour number prior to your start time:


  • 0333 321 8019 (standard local rates)

Please have the following details ready:

  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • payroll number
  • Schedule working hours
  • Home number

You must then also call your manager or designated deputy at CCN if there is a need to discuss any work commitments.
