This opportunity is suited to those that have completed their recognised qualification at college. Following successful completion after a year, if a suitable vacancy comes available employment will continue as this will with you a firm grounding for a successful career in the hospitality industry.
Programme Objectives:

Programme Structure by Department:
1. Front Office Operations:
• Introduction to front office roles
• Reservation systems and guest services
• Check-in/check-out procedures
2. Housekeeping:
• Room preparation and cleanliness standards
• Laundry and linen management
• Coordination with front office
• Inventory management
• Safety and hygiene practices
3. Food and Beverage Service:
• Basics of food and beverage service
• Setting up and maintaining a dining area
• Food safety and hygiene standards
• Customer service skills
• Wine and drinks knowledge
• Hot beverage training
• WSET Level 1
4. Kitchen Operations and Management:
• Introduction to kitchen roles and responsibilities
• Food preparation and cooking techniques
• Kitchen safety and hygiene
• Inventory management and cost control
• Hands-on practice in a kitchen setting
• Food safety in the workplace level 2
• Allergen awareness level 2
5. Other departments
• Maintenance scheduling and ongoing work

What is The Grove Cromer?
The Grove is a country house on the outskirts of Cromer. It has a rich history as a former holiday house for the Gurney and Barclay families who went onto start Barclays bank. In 1936, The Graveling family bought The Grove off the Barclays family and moved in, opening as a guest house. Three generations and nearly 90 years later, The Grove Cromer LLP is a four-star hotel with a two-rosette restaurant. It has an indoor pool, and a seasonal restaurant and function venue in Sundown, which is in two purpose-built giant tipis. The Grove has a total staff of around 50 and has a family ethos. Traditional values of quality and relaxation are tied with embracing modern techniques and hospitality trends.

Individual Mentorship: Pairing with experienced staff in various departments. Guidance on setting career goals.
Offsite Opportunities:
• Opportunities to connect with industry professionals. Candidates will be invited to The Independent Hotel Show in London Olympia, Visit Norfolk or Visit
• North Norfolk Tourism Conferences. Opportunities will be provided for candidates to develop in the field that is most suitable and interesting to them, by way of support and excursions from our tourism network. Examples of these could be, brewing, distillery, the wine industry, butchery, marketing, sustainability. These areas can be flexible and adjusted to the specific candidate’s strengths and interests.
Soft Skills Training: Emphasizing communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and customer service.
Assessment Methods: Continuous assessment of participation and performance.
Certification: The Grove Cromer is not an education provider so cannot produce a recognised certification of
education, however, an in-house certificate will be awarded on completion of the programme. In addition to this, as part of the programme, employees will be required to complete externally
recognised first aid, food safety and allergen courses. These will be paid for by The Grove Cromer.
Although the programme will act as an education to young people wishing to enter the
hospitality industry, it must be noted that this is an employed position and candidates will be
expected to always act in a professional manner. This position is suited for those that have completed their recognised qualification at college.
On ending the programme: On successful completion of the programme, if a suitable position is available, the candidate will be offered a position.
